(193) Miracles of Jesus Christ!

7 stories of simplicity from Jesus Christ 1. Heals the leper Later, while Jesus was in a city, a leper came to him and fell on his face and prayed: "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be thou clean." Immediately leprosy left him. Jesus said to him, "Do not tell anyone about this. Go and present yourself to the priest, and present the offering of purification to the people, as Moses commanded." Here again, Jesus did not want to be famous. 2. Calling Levi As Jesus was leaving, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office. "Follow me" Jesus said to him, He left everything and got up and followed him. Levi had a big party for him at his house. A large group of tax collectors and others were dining with them. The Pharisees and scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "What do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" Jesus said to them, ...

(166) The invisible support!

The monk in the ashram was a divine person. The chief disciple in the ashram had extraordinary skill in martial arts. The monk was able to rid many people in that village of their bad habits. However, the decrease in smuggling, black market activities, and attacks was not liked by the illegal traders. They came before the monk and threatened him to leave the place. Even though they cursed the monk, he did not say anything. For a while, the disciple stood patiently. After some time, anger surged within him. When he roared, the villagers retreated in fear. Later, the disciple asked the guru, "Why did you remain silent even when they were cursing you?" At that moment, the guru said, "Until you became angry, I could see the divine presence all around us. But the moment you became angry with them, it vanished." Motivation: When you react to the disturbances caused by others with opposing thoughts, words, or actions, the divine support around you will disappear. This is ...

(104) The Faith!

Once, the religious cleric in Mullah Hodja's town was critically ill. He had tried many different treatments, but nothing had worked. One day, his servant said, "There is a possibility of curing your illness. Everyone says that the divine Hodja has many different abilities. Shall I call him?" He agreed. Accordingly, Hodja arrived. Hodja looked at the cleric and said, "First, pray a thousand times, 'Oh my God, save me.' Then, pray a thousand times, 'Oh my devil, save me.'" Hearing this, the cleric trembled with anger. "What? Do you mean I should call the devil to cure my illness?" Hodja calmly replied, "I don't know whether it will be God or the devil who comes to cure your illness, do I?"

(77) The worship!

Haja 's sense of humour is quite famous, no matter the situation. Read a short illustrative story. Haja used to visit the place of worship regularly. However, people faced a problem there. They would take off their sandals/slippers, leave them on the steps, and then enter for prayers. After some time, when they came out, their own footwear would be nowhere to be found, not even a trace! This matter bothered Haja greatly as well. Therefore, he mostly used his old, worn-out footwear when coming there. However, one day Haja bought a new pair of footwear and came for prayers. Fearing the possibility of the new footwear being stolen, he made a decision and, for the first time, entered the place of worship wearing his sandals/slippers! After the prayers, as Haja came out, someone remarked, "Hey! Prayers offered while wearing footwear are of no value!" Immediately, Haja replied, "That might be true. But, if I had gone in without my footwear, the footwear outside would cer...

(76) A big church!

Once upon a time,  Haja  needed to get a very urgent wish or matter fulfilled. During such times, his faith in God would be very high. So, he started going to a  big church  located a bit far away. He prayed there every single day without fail for his wish to be granted. However, even after a few months, nothing happened. He became very disappointed and shared this with his friend. His friend then said, "Haja, there is a  small church  that I really trust. If you go and pray there, your wish will surely be fulfilled." Haja went there and prayed accordingly, and it was a surprise—his wish was granted! Haja immediately walked quickly back to the big church. He went inside and, in annoyance, complained, "What is the use of being called a big church? I went to a small church and got my wish fulfilled. You only have size; this is a dull church!" Haja never came back to pray there again.

(48) The Destiny!

Long, long ago, when the entire land of Silbaripuram was nothing but thick forest, this incident took place. Yet, hunters from the neighbouring kingdom of Kosalapuram often came there. As usual, that day too, a hunter arrived at the riverbank. It was the peak of summer, so wild animals would come there to drink water. At such times, he could catch them by throwing a net or by shooting. Meanwhile, a wild goat came to the river to drink water. The hunter spotted it. He hid behind a tall tree, aimed his gun, and held his breath. But before the goat bent down to drink, it looked around and noticed the hunter. The goat thought of jumping into the water to escape — but a crocodile was lying there, watching it hungrily! Then it turned back, thinking of running the other way, and froze in shock! A tiger stood behind it, ready to pounce! The goat looked toward the forest and saw another path. But far ahead, a forest fire was raging. Realising there was no way to escape, the goat sighed and...

(1) The True pilgrimage!

Long ago, in a place called Silbaripuram, there lived a great devotee of the Goddess named Shankunni. His life’s greatest ambition was to visit the famous Devi temple in the neighbouring kingdom of Kosalapuram. However, he had never been able to make the trip. The temple allowed devotees to have darshan (sacred viewing) only for a few specific days in a year—a tradition followed for centuries. Every time the season approached for the month-long trek, the money Shankunni had painstakingly saved would inevitably get spent on some urgent household necessity. Determined, he began saving coins again for the following year. Finally, after many years of saving, he had enough money just as the pilgrimage season arrived! Shankunni set out on foot towards Kosalapuram. On the tenth day of his journey, he encountered an old man crying by the roadside. The man pleaded, "My family and I have been starving for days. Please, have mercy and help us." Moved by compassion, Shankunni took the m...
